Facilities were superb

Venue overall brilliant, nothing too much trouble for Martin and Shirley who made us feel very welcome and really get the balance of support and leaving you to enjoy your holiday. Thank you both for a lovely holiday. 9 carp total with 2 x 30's to 34lb, 5 x 20's to 29lb, 2 under 20 and 11 Roach from the stock pond for Matthew.

The fact that we come here every year for a holiday says it all. Oh yes and we also do some fishing! Tactics - 8am to 8pm on a good day... When the vino came out the rods came in. 9 fish - 5 thirties to 37lb 8oz and 4 twenties to 27lb.

Enjoyable week once again, weather wasn't what we expected for August!. Shame about the weeds. Paul and Martin worked hard all day Monday to clear a small area. Tough week. Storm all day Sunday due to 'Martha'. No excuses. Five fish, poor show. 5 total - 3 x 30's to 37lb, 1 at 29lb and 1 under 20.

The combination of superb bankside accommodation, meal package and friendly owners makes for a great holiday set in tranquil surroundings. We will be returning! The introduction this year of access to wi-fi in the lodge and in the home swim is a real bonus. 5 carp to 31lb.

Fishing very difficult due to varying weather conditions which disrupted the fish from feeding, but not just at Oakview it was widespread across a large area of France. Even so, still a very enjoyable relaxing week. Thank you Martin and Shirley. See you next time :) 3 carp at 29lb, 25lb 8oz and 23lb 12oz (PB for Clark Harvey).

Had a great time, relaxing break. The fishing was brilliant from one particular swim, and slow from the rest. 18 total including 5 x 30's to 38lb 10oz (new PB Mirror for Graham), 10 x 20's to 29lb 8oz (including a new PB Common for Graham at 27lb 4oz), 2 doubles and 1 jack pike.

Martin and Shirley are excellent hosts. 15 total of which 6 were over 30lb. Didn't fish nights and very little fishing on Thursday and Friday.

Very enjoyable holiday. Wonderful hosts. Accommodation very good. In Bristolian: it was Gert Lush.9 carp from 18lb to 37lb 8oz - Mirrors and Commons. George also had 2 PB's.

Martin and Shirley are exceptional hosts. Nothing was a problem. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with interesting towns. And the fishing was 1st class.
Came to catch 'big' carp and exceeded my PB. First two days were hot (22.deg.C), caught down the edge 1am, 2am and 8am, then when cooler fished out in bowl. 5 total at 39lb 5oz, 28lb, 26lb 5oz, 26lb and 19lb. Blanked on the baits I had brought with me, bought Oakview Lake baits and started to catch.
Accommodation is absolutely brilliant, the facilities and cleanliness are above and beyond!
A beautiful place to spend a week fishing. Super place, super fish, super people.

Spotless lodge, proper kitchen + comfy beds. Many thanks to our hosts for allowing us into their little piece of French heaven. We are all sorry to be leaving. In France fishing for a short break to celebrate my sisters birthday we took the opportunity to have a short session fishing at the same time. Very glad we did as well. We had a fantastic few days (29th March to 2nd April) and a couple of great 40's as well. Sadly, no 40's for me this time. My brother Ian had the biggest at 41lb 13oz and our friend Howard, who fished only two days, another 40 at 40lb 9oz. That's fishing. Had a brilliant time anyway and an added bonus was the weather, which was sunny and warm for most of our stay.
