Very happy with the accommodation

Fished hard due to high pressure. Fished for bites with small PVA bags and small bait - also tried maggots. Silt bowl - major route!! No lines through it!! 6 total: 39lb (PB for Andy), 31lb 4oz (PB for John), 30lb 10oz, 29lb 10oz, 28lb 12oz and 27lb 11oz.

Superb venue with fantastic hosts

This was a most enjoyable holiday / fishing trip. First week was very hot up to 32degC every day so spent days visiting a chateau, Laval, Meslay du Maine etc., as fishing switched off. Second week fishing hard - thunder and lightening storms, still warm and heavy showers did not help the fish to switch back on, however, fun trying to encourage them.
Very peaceful and restful, enjoyed seeing the deer and kingfishers every day. Food was superb. Thanks again Shirley and Martin. We will be back! 7 x Mirrors from 25lb to 38lb 8oz (New PB for Pete) + 2 x Commons to 17lb 6oz. Fished days only. Thank you Shirley and Martin.
This was our first time at Oakview but it won't be the last

My non fishing wife really liked it here. The lake was lovely, Martin and Shirley really make you feel at home, even giving me a bottle of wine for my birthday, along with a 38lb 8oz common and a 35lb 4oz mirror. Can't think of a better way to spend a birthday.

Accommodation, food and hospitality first class

Another fantastic week at Oakview. Also new P.B's, who could wish for more. Many thanks again to Martin and Shirley for a lovely holiday.14 fish - 2 commons, 12 mirrors (4 x 30's). We both beat our PB's twice. Best fish to Jenny at 38lb 2oz. Five start in all departments.

Weather has been very hot!! Very tough going due to the high temperatures 37 in the shade. Thanks to Martin and Shirley once again. 8 in total with 2 x 30's at 35lb 8oz and 30lb 8oz, 5 x 20's to 29lb 12oz and 1 x teen. Caught mainly in the morning. Weather was extremely hot, so things didn't go to plan!

We visit here every year for a holiday. What we are after is: Excellent accommodation, peaceful surroundings, superb hosts, hot sunny weather and a lake full of carp. Oakview delivers this every year! Martin and Shirley - see you next year!. Already booked.
13 carp total including: 4 x 30's to 37lb 4oz, 7 x 20's to 29lb and 2 x doubles.Fished Sunday afternoon to Friday evening including two nights. Rest of time fishing days - mid-morning to midnight. Most fish came during the hours of darkness.

Had a fantastic week at Oakview Lake, excellent fishing, accommodation and hosts. 10 in total including 3 x 30's up to 32lb (PB), 6 x 20's to 29lb and 1 at 18lb.

Worth every penny. We had a beautiful family holiday and would love to come back again soon. The venue was all round superb with Martin and Shirley making it even better. Thanks for everything. 1 at 40lb 4oz, 11 x 30's to 38lb 12oz, 10 x 20's to 29lb 8oz, 2 x teens, plus 25 Roach and Rudd for 6-year-old Jessie. Fished 7.30am to 10.00pm.

Despite difficult weather conditions. Fishing was excellent, both got new PB's over 32lb. Venue is excellent would highly recommend. Martin and Shirley are the perfect hosts and no doubt we will be back. Thank you for making the week perfect - food (Thanks Shirley) 12 carp total, 5 x 30's (new PB's for Anthony and Ryan at 32lb 8oz each), 5 x 20's and 2 doubles.

Hard fishing conditions, Hot bright days. Spawning. Cooler evenings produced most fish. Fantastic hosts Martin and Shirley. As first trip to France would defo come back. All four of us broke P.B's. Bad point - the week goes too quick - can't wait to come back. 24 total including 5 x 30's to 36lb 8oz. New PB's for all anglers at 30lb+ each.

Oakview is a fantastic venue for both serious carp anglers and the 'family' angler. It is challenging enough to test your ability but the rewards are there if you are patient and 'watch' the water to locate the carp. Martin and Shirley are fantastic hosts and will go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Cannot recommend highly enough. 12 carp to 32lb 5oz. 5 x 30's. 6 x 20's, 1 x double. Fishing was made more difficult than usual because of high 30+ degrees temperature throughout the week.
Oakview is the only venue that we have returned to

Have done several fishing holidays over recent years and Oakview is the only venue that we have returned to. Martin and Shirley are incredible hosts, they really go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay and you really could not meet nicer people - Dad's already pestering to book up again - but he did have 3 of the 5 thirties and always seemed to manage to catch one when I returned to the lodge for a shower or lunch etc. - much to Martin's amusement.

We had a very enjoyable week, as usual, ladies out and about, men relaxing by the lake. See you in September, looking forward to it ! Total of 9 fish - 2 x 30's to 38lb, very nice 7 others. Fish all in good condition, bit cold start of the week but warmed up.

Perfect weeks fishing holiday. Food, lake, cabin, fishing and our hosts were all fantastic. If able we will return as often as we can. 39 Total including 10 x 30's to 37lb (PB for Terry Birch), 27 x 20's to 29lb 8oz including a Ghost at 25lb, and 2 under 20's. Two anglers fishing nights.

Another totally enjoyable trip to Oakview. It's the whole package that keeps us coming back year after year - the fishing, accommodation, surroundings and not least Martin and Shirley who we are pleased to call our friends as well as superb hosts.
We have booked our place here for next year, as we feel at home here at this excellent venue. Thanks again - Mick, Benny and Stuart x. 6 x 30's to 38lb 8oz (PB) Mirrors + 37lb 11oz Common. 7 x 20's to 28lb 11oz. 2 x doubles, both commons 14lb 7oz and 19lb 12oz. 1 angler fished nights (4 nights only).

Martin and Shirley are super hosts, couldn't do enough for us, food excellent, facilities and accommodation second to none. Carp: 42lb, 36lb 12oz, 35lb 8oz, 34lb 8oz, 19lb 4oz Linear. Low catch due to spawning and hot weather.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week, wish we were staying another!. Martin and Shirley are fantastic hosts and made us feel very at home from the start. Great place to come with dogs - ours loved it. Thank you for a brilliant week. Just Bill fishing mainly and mostly days.

Martin and Shirley fantastic hosts couldn't of asked for more! Fish were on the brink of spawning and then some cold weather mucked things up BUT 3 personal bests and a lake record isn't too bad!! Brilliant!. 48lb mirror (lake record and PB Zach), 34lb 4oz mirror - (PB Ian), 32lb mirror (PB Ray), 27lb 4oz mirror - (Zach).
