Amazing big fish and superior accommodation

We have had a fantastic week at Oakview Lake which has left us wanting to come back for more! Martin and Shirley are two of the most genuine people we've met and made our stay even more pleasant with their warmth and hospitality.
The lodge and carp fishing really are 5 star. The amazing big fish and superior accommodation will be hard to match anywhere. After fishing at Oakview Lake and being spoilt, we don't want to fish anywhere else! Oh well, we'll just have to book again.
Catch included 5 x 30s and 4 new pbs.

Great week was had by us all as always. The lodge is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and relaxing. Fishing was hard due to the weather (38 degrees in the shade) so hot! We love it here and we love Martin and Shirley.
Pbs broken 3 times at 32lb 10oz, 33lb and 34lb 2oz. Can't wait to come back.

Fantastic Time Once Again at Oakview Lake

One of the best weeks fishing in glorious weather. Martin and Shirley are classed as dear friends now. A big thank you x
36 carp caught: 2 x 40s, 19 x 30s, 14 x 20s and 1 under 20lb. Catch included new PBs for Ray at 43lb and Viv at 25lb 8oz plus Bob's first Oakview Lake 40lb carp.

Our second visit to Oakview Lake has been superb. Fishing and weather absolutely great. Shirley and Martin exceptional hosts as always. Our only disappointment is we can't get a space booked for next year! Booked already for year after so all steam ahead for 2017! See you then x

24 carp caught, including 2 x 40s, 10 x 30s and 11 x 20s. Lovely looking lake. Shirley and Martin were very helpful and friendly. Weather was a major factor but excellent fishing in certain area of the lake.

The lodge is immaculate, well equipped and situated in a prime position with picturesque views of the lake. Shirley and Martin are the kindest and friendliest people we've ever met - nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely week and see you again in May 2016. This is our second visit to Oakview Lake, but hopefully not our last! Shirley and Martin are friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble - an absolutely fab couple! Plenty of bait always ready when needed. Our wives also had a lovely chilled out time, doing plenty of exploring in the surrounding areas.
1x 46lb mirror and 1 x 39lb 8oz mirror but due to weather conditions and fish waiting to spawn, fishing not as good as we hoped. This has not by any means put us off and we will return!
The fishing is first class and the food package is second to none

The friendliest and most accommodating fishery we have ever visited

Lovely people, a more than generous food package with excellent variety and superb accommodation. Atrocious weather and only a few fish wanted to play but no fault of the owners.
Catch included 1 x 40, 4 x 30s, 4 x 20s and numerous fish from the stock lake.

Fished days only 1 x 40, 6 x 30s and 1 x 20, including PB mirror at 41lb 4oz and PB common at 39lb 6oz.
Oakview Lake is like a little piece of paradise and surroundings are wonderful, accommodation is brilliant (cosy, clean and well kitted out) and good fishing. First session very hot and fish were ready to spawn and not interested in eating. Second session weather changed completely and fish a little more interested but not fully, so worked hard to catch fish. Good to have a challenge and the fish were in great condition - really enjoyed it. Shirley and Martin are the best hosts you could ask for - nothing is too much trouble.

Sunbathing weather, but we still managed to winkle quite a few big fish out. Great to catch up with Mart and Shirl as always. Looking forward to next year's visits already. 9 carp total, biggest were a 45lb 6oz mirror and 3 good 30s.

We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. The lake itself is beautiful and the lodge is like visiting the Ritz Hotel, with everything you could imagine. Will 100% be back!
Catch included a new lake record common at 46lb and lots of high 30s. Two PBs were smashed during the week. 1 x 46lb, 13 x 30lb and 5 x 20lb. 19 carp with an average size of 33lb.

Always a great warm welcome, wonderful facilities and more food than you can eat. Weather was against us (NE winds and non-stop cold rain all week). 27lb 2oz and 27lb 8oz mirrors.

Caught the ladies lake record at 44lb 4oz. Enjoyed every minute, accommodation was excellent too. Will definitely be returning. Thank you - Amy, Jamie and Jake.
Catches: 28 total including 44lb 4oz New Ladies Record and PB for Amy, a further 40lb 2oz for Amy, 13 x 30's to 39lb 2oz, which included 6 over 35lb, 10 x 20's to 29lb and 3 under 20lb. Not bad for a first trip to France.
Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts

Lovely weeks fishing, rest and recuperation. Nurse Shirl does a mean finger stool! We were made to feel welcome and home from home - fishing was great even though we did not put too much effort in. Dizzy had a damp week. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, local knowledge on where to go, directions, All in all a fantastic and enjoyable weeks fishing.
To be fair if we had put a little more effort in we could have caught more fish, but we were here to chill and relax, and if we caught fish that was a bonus. Thanks - spot on. Terry, Bob, Nola and Dizzy.13 carp total - 6 x 30's to 37lb, 5 x 20's to 29lb, 2 under 20 plus 2 small grass carp and a jack pike.
Clean and comfortable accommodation. Plenty of large fighting-fit carp in pristine condition.

Friendly welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable accommodation (10 out of 10 - delightful), picturesque setting, wonderful weather, and last, but by no means least, plenty of large, fighting-fit carp in pristine condition to catch - which we did until our arms ached. Merci mille fois Martin and Shirley for providing us with a very enjoyable holiday which we will remember for years to come.
21 total, 8 mirrors 30lb to 34lb 15oz (new PB for Vic), 8 Mirrors 20lb to 29lb 1oz, 2 x Mirrors 18lb to 19lb 8oz, 3 x Commons 22lb to 26lb. Kevin fished two nights.

Fishing was slow but this was the same as various venues in the area, not just Oakview Lake. 4 x Mirrors to 32-04 and 2 x Commons to 29-09.
