Highly recommend this venue to anyone
By Steve Duncalf on6 November 2009
Highly recommend this venue to anyone. The pictures just don't do it justice and top hospitality from Martin and Shirley. Would have been good to have a few cats to go at and wifi in the lodge (the lodge has everything else). Would love to come back in the summer. We were the first ever anglers to enjoy a winter break at Oakview and we loved every minute of it. The fish were jumping all over the place but just weren't biting. Danny caught a nice 26lb 4 oz leather on Thursday night and that made our week as we weren't expecting much.

Another unforgettable trip to Oakview.
By Barry Plummer on2 October 2009
Fantastic fishing for pristine carp, outstanding hospitality and brilliant facilities. We would like to thank Martin and Shirley for another great week. We couldn’t of wished for better home comforts with a special personal touch. See you again in June next year, when I’ll be back again with the boys!! This was my 2nd visit (this time with family) and facilities as before were of a very high standard and far exceeded Dawn's expectations.I love the lodge swim!

What a wonderful week we had. The accommodation and whole set up was superb. Cannot be faulted. Many thanks to Martin and Shirley as superb hosts. We had exceptionally hot weather which made the fishing slow but improved throughout the week. 8 carp to 27lb 2oz

Great weather, food and hospitality
By Tom Connor on18 September 2009
Would have liked a few more fish but suspect the great weather we enjoyed did not help the fishing. Would love to return. Three 20+ mirrors. A couple of fish lost at the net and a dozen or so carp under 1lb caught on a bit of fun fishing on maggots. Despite slow fishing had a lovely enjoyable week enjoying the great weather, food and hospitality

First class venue
By Stephen Allison on4 September 2009
Martin and Shirley made us feel right at home from the start. The facilities are excellent, offering everything you want and more. In eleven years of coming to France this is the best venue I have been to. Martin and Shirley catered for our every need. They were very helpful and informative. Although Martin is not a carp angler he does listen to any suggestions and acts upon them which was very refreshing. I would like to congratulate Martin and Shirley on an excellent venue and look forward to coming back year after year.
All fish caught from low 20's to upper 20's. First few days were slow then averaged two fish banked per day.

Better than expected, very comfortable lodge, fished in my slippers!

An outstanding venue
By Pete Slack on17 July 2009
An outstanding venue augmented by Martin and Shirley who made our week really enjoyable. The small fish problem will be sorted out by the netting of the lake and the coypus are being dealt with by the owners who will offer any assistance to ensure a pleasant stay even though the fishing was difficult. Over 30 small fish to about 3lb, 1 mirror carp 26 lb....and 1 coypu

By John Moncur on10 July 2009
Great venue and superb accommodation. The owners were very helpfull and always on hand if anything was needed. The lodge is up to a very high standard and nothing has been forgotten. Would definatly recommend this venue to others and are very much looking forward to hopefully coming back next year.
Out of the three anglers that fished throughout the week the biggest fish weighed in at 23lb common and was caught by a first time female angler, the other catches consisted of a 19lb mirror also caught by the first time angler, a 19lb 1oz mirror by Jake and a 18lb mirror also caught by Jake, the third angler caught a 18lb 8oz and a 18lb mirror. Delighted with the high standard shown

Martin and Shirley were very helpful and friendly. We will all be looking to come back again next year - Jon, Paul, Alan, Richard and Kulraj

Beautiful venue with very good fishing
By Carsten Madsen on26 June 2009
First Danes at Oakview. Carsten and the boys gave feedback verbally (easier for their English). Here's their answers: Any negative points? - None at all. Fishing? - very good considering the heat wave. Other comments - Beautiful venue with very good fishing. We will come back.
Well, we hope that we have noted your comments accurately and we look forward to seeing you all again - Martin & Shirley. 10 Carp to 12.2kg (26lb 14oz). 3 commons, 7 mirrors. 7 20s. New PB for Mikkel. -

The chalet is luxurious
By Steve Hewitt on5 June 2009
Wonderful venue; the lake is enchanting, the surroundings serene, the chalet is luxurious, Shirley & Martin are superb hosts and the carp were seriously hard-fighting fish in excellent condition. Oakview Lake is a tranquil retreat which suddely explodes into exhilerating action. A truly romantic place - a piece of paradise.
In two incomplete days we enjoyed six carp to 26lb including a perfect 19lb Common. Jackie (a novice) got the best and smashed her pb. Only one got away after a really hard twenty minute fight.
