The new house baits are put to the test by Oakview Lake top guns Bob Carey and Ray Green. The new baits were tested over two separate sessions. During the two weeks of tests, 55 carp were banked, including 2 x 40s and 27x 30s.

Oakview Lake Crunchy Coconut Boilie

Developed specially for Oakview Lake by Three Rivers Rolling, these fresh frozen boilies are packed with goodness and the flavour is similar to Mainline Cell. Bob Carey has had a lot of success using Cell at Oakview over the years, so Glynn at Three Rivers Rolling was given a difficult brief. Glynn first had to include ingredients that satisfied our own requirements for carp health and growth. Glynn also had to come up with a boilie that would 'catch like Cell'. That meant winning approval from long-time Cell fan Bob Carey and fellow big hitter Ray Green.

Crunchy Coconut Verdict

Bob and Ray's verdict - "We are very impressed with this bait. The Crunchy Coconut rods matched the Cell rods for catches in our joint session at Oakview Lake in June 2015". Bob added that he will continue to bring his trusty Mainline Cell to Oakview Lake, but his confidence in the new house bait means that he no longer has to worry about bringing large quantities of fresh frozen boilies with him.

ASAP Boilie

Developed specially by Three Rivers Rolling for big carp fishing sessions in France. The bait first came to our attention when we saw it producing regular big hits for a group of anglers on Margot, a premier league water nearby. We discovered that these big-hit anglers have been using Glynn's baits for many years with impressive results. Bob agreed to test the ASAP fish meal based boilie during his August visit to Oakview Lake.

ASAP Verdict

Bob's verdict - "I started the session with my usual popped up Cell over a coconut mix until I was sure that I had the carp feeding well in my regular spots. Once I had established a steady catch rate, I switched individual rods to ASAP over a fish-based mix. The bites on these rods came much quicker and this helped me to bank a total of 19 carp during my day sessions". Bob added 8 more 30s and 11 more 20s to the test tally.
