Food Very Good

Food was very good, owners were polite and helpful. Fishing was a challenge, very mixed weather and conditions.
Fishing Tactics: Ronnie rig with citrus pop-up. Open water for most.
Catch: Biggest 26lb grass carp + 16lb grass carp. 4 x common carp 12, 14, 16 and 11lb.

Fantastic Hosts

Gary & Angeline fantastic hosts to us and our two children. Accommodation very clean and tidy, well equipped with everything you need.We have had such a great time and already booked to return next May!
Fishing Tactics: We used different baits from pop ups to bottom baits with lake pellets all catching fish.
Catch: A tough week, very hot and some spawning. With Gary's advice we managed 15 fish to 45lb 2oz. All fish in mint condition and very hard fighting.

A Nice Lake For The Future

Gary & Angeline have been great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. A nice lake for the future and it will benefit when the small fish from the flood have been removed. *Owner's note* As anglers catch the smaller carp we are moving them back to the stock pond :-)
Fishing Tactics: Pop ups for all fish, the fish this week laid up under the bushes for much of the time. A bait boat is a real benefit. Shame I couldn't attract the bigger fish but a great week on a nice lake.
Catch: 5 fish to 25lb 3oz only fished for 5 days with most fish out during the night.

Absolutely Brilliant Lake

Absolutely brilliant lake with a good head of fish. Gary bends over backwards to make sure you catch and have everything you need. Angeline's cooking makes the food package unmissable with every meal a treat to eat. The cabin was perfect to stay in if you didn't want to fish the night, had all the facilities to self-cater but you would be crazy not to get the food package. Generally a great holiday made truly brilliant by Gary & Angeline, we will definitely be back next year.
Fishing Tactics: Fishing the margins using Complex T pop-ups over lake pellet and particle using a Ronnie rig.
Catch: 27 fish in total to 41lb and 3 grass carp over 20lb. 3 new PBs for the group being 1 each in difficult conditions, a great weeks fishing.

Plenty large Enough For 4 Anglers

The lake is plenty large enough for 4 anglers. Our hosts Gary & Angeline were very welcoming and friendly. We opted for the food package and this was superb. Gary was very helpful with all kinds of fishing tips and tried his best to make sure you caught fish.
We stayed in the converted railway carriage, this was plenty big enough with all the necessary facilities for the 3 of us.Fishing
Fishing Tactics: Fishing in the margins due to the weather during the day and some open water during the night. Bait was typically Complex T Fluro pop-ups and some squid dumbbell pop-up on a Ronnie rig.
Catch: Mirror, Common and Grass carp to 41lb. Total of 27 fish.

Fantastic Food

Fantastic food with good sized portions and a great dining room overlooking the lake. Gary will do whatever he can to ensure you catch some decent fish. Listen to his advice and you'll be in for a great weeks fishing. Awesome weeks fishing made better by our hosts Gary & Angeline.
Fishing Tactics: Due to the hot weather we fished tight to the margins under overhanging trees using Gary's rigs and bait! Pink worked well.
Catch: Smashed everyone's PB's, 27 fish caught to 41lb.

A First Class Fishery

As I said in the visitors book. Gary & Angeline are two of the nicest people you could ask for. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was incredible, the fishing was great despite the changeable conditions. A first class fishery with a very bright future. Thanks for having us.
Fishing Tactics: Margins early part of week open water as colder weather came in. Ronnie rig with Scopex squid popup and lots of house pellet, the carp love it.
Catch: 13 fish in total to 38.8

Brilliant Facilities & Fantastic Service

Gary & Angeline could not have been more accommodating, the service has been absolutely fantastic and I have had a great weeks fishing.
Brilliant facilities - kitchen facilities which include oven, grill, hob, fridge, freezer, hot shower, and the option of two separate bedrooms. I would definitely come back.
Fishing Tactics: When it was hot early in the week I fished the margins and close to the island. when the pressure and temperature dropped I caught in open water. All my fish were caught on Scopex squid pop ups an inch off the bottom on a ronnie rig with small PVA bag and pellet once they started feeding.
Catch: 13 fish to 25.4

Beautiful Venue

Eau de Vie is a beautiful venue. Just driving through the gate makes you smile. It was clear it wasn't going to be an easy place to fish when we spotted fish pairing up in preparation for spawning. However, thanks to the owners knowledge of his lake and some advice from a mutual pal I was able to put a few on the bank.
The accommodation was tip top – lovely and warm in the evenings. Beds are super comfortable.
For the wife and I Eau De Vie has become much more than just another fishing venue. Angeline & Gary have become firm friends and we're already planning our next visit. Although we catered for ourselves in the fully fitted cabin, we did get a chance to sample Angeline's cooking, the food package is recommended.
I'm 100% sure Eau de Vie will become a firm favourite as it really does offer it all.
Fishing Tactics: Small single pop ups.
Catch: 5 fish in total to 34.11
